Sunrise Hiking for your 1st Heavenly Birthday Sis

July 19, 2024 my sister would have been 52. I began celebrating her birthday at dawn watching the sunrise while climbing a mountain.  Happy 1st heavenly birthday sister.  You [your spirit], me and the mountain…sunrise and all day long hiking…

Now reflecting…when I signed up for this challenge I didn’t realize how special & perfectly fit it would be.. With the loss of my sister, I’ll never be the same – and now I realize even more than ever that I am [we are] capable of so much more… especially in the lowest, hardest of times.

The unimaginable recent loss of my sister has taken my soul to depths that I’ve never been and is taking my heart, soul and life higher than ever.

Climbing (over the height of Mt. Kilimanjaro) 20,310’ elevation gain over 36 hours was deeply profound; the most beautiful, amazing, truly indescribable celebration of my sisters life on what would have been her 52nd birthday. There was favor present in every step.

I wore a bib with our surname Verdugo in honor of her and our family.
I ate french fries (one of her favorites) for fuel
carbs & they gave me energy & happiness.
Butterflies escorted and kept me company along the way.
I cannot even put into words the spirit of her energy & my soul in sync that I felt..
On this side, life, alive like I’ve never lived before…
