- EAT BREAKFAST – Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; starting your day with a nourishing meal will support your organ function (liver), brain – mental health, weight – metabolism, energy levels – blood sugar, and start you off on the right foot for a successful day in all you do! Healthy Lifestyle TIP* Enjoying a nutritious breakfast will support optimal health. You’ll want to aim for a high fiber, complex carbohydrate breakfast – for example, organic rolled oats (gluten free) with a pinch of cinnamon, a pinch of diced walnuts, a dash of ground flaxseed or chia seeds (1-2 tsps) followed by a handful (1/4 cup blueberries) will give you lasting energy!
- PLAN AHEAD – Eat small meals throughout the day. Your body will be better supported by having 4-5 light meals throughout the day. Skip having your mind set on a large dinner and opt for a lighter meal or maybe a smoothie for dinner (especially if weight loss is part of your health goal)! Having small meals will keep your energy level up, your blood sugar in control, keep you satisfied and you will be less likely to have the afternoon crash or sugar/caffeine craving to get you through the day!
- SLOW DOWN – Enjoy your meal over 20 minutes. Take time to sit and pay attention to nourishing your body. Aim to chew your food up to 20 times before you swallow! By chewing, you will break down food before it hits your stomach and allow the nutrients to be more affective while giving your digestive system a break!
- BE MINDFUL – Plan your menu ahead and take time to enjoy your meals!
- MINI MEALS OVERRIDE SNACKS! Following a plan similar to this example will keep you balanced, energized and keep you from overeating, snacking, gaining weight and best of all, will support your body for OPTIMAL HEALTH!

Here’s a MENU of 5 MINI MEALS to give you an idea how to plan ahead:
BREAKFAST: ½-1 cup old fashioned stove top cooked oats, sprinkle over w/ 1 tsp of each – cinnamon, chia seeds, flax seeds, add 1-2 tbsp finely diced walnuts or almonds, (dash of almond milk less than ¼ cup – optional), followed by ¼-1 cup blueberries
MID MORNING MINI MEAL: ½-1 avocado with ½ – 1 whole cucumber, dash of Himalayan Sea Salt + dash of chili pepper (optional, if you like it spicy), hard boiled egg (optional)
LUNCH: Tuna or chicken (3-4 ounces) over leafy green salad (romaine, swiss chard, kale) with lots of colorful veggies (red onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, whatever you like!), squeeze 1 lemon over with a drizzle of olive oil or flaxseed oil (1 tbsp, oil) as dressing
MID AFTERNOON MINI MEAL: 1 organic apple with 2 tbsp almond butter
DINNER: Tomato soup with side of steamed veggies (can add 4 ounces, meat like chicken or fish)
TREAT (in between or after dinner): Herbal tea!
