Reduce your risk of toxins. A MUST Shop Organic List: the Dirty Dozen & the Clean 15

A MUST DO TIP~!

One way you can eliminate toxins from coming into your body is to buy fresh, organic, fruits & veggies. Please copy this list for your shopping guide and be a smart consumer!  I know it may seem like an awesome deal to buy from bulk sources such as Costco or other larger markets, but the problem is that you’re risking your health with an average of 50-70 different harmful pesticides/chemicals on one piece or serving.  The Environmental Working Group estimates that an individual can reduce risk by 80% when sticking to the following list!

As a rule of thumb, you should always buy SOFT SKIN fruits & veggies ORGANIC!

Here’s a list of the dirty dozen and should always be ORGANIC:

Dirty Dozen:  Apples, Blueberries, Berries/Strawberries, Bell Peppers, Celery, Cucumber, Grapes, Lettuce, Leafy Greens/Kale/Collard/Spinach, Nectarines, Peaches, Potatoes.

The Clean 15 are foods that are OK to buy conventionally, because when tested there are little or no traces of pesticides when grown non-organically.

The Clean 15: Asparagus, Avocado, Cabbage, Sweet Corn (GMO Caution), Cantaloupe, Eggplant, Grapefruit, Kiwi Fruit, Mango, Mushrooms, Onions, Sweet Potatoes, Sweet Peas, Pineapple, Watermelon.
